An inspiring, timeless collection that makes it an excellent gift for children, this sophisticated Children's Bible is a classic in word and picture, an ideal gift for baptism or first communion. It contains 65 Bible stories from the creation of the world through to the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and the birth of the early church. The 65 Bible stories are grouped thematically, rather than chronologically, and include both the well-known and the less well-known.

The illustrations in this Bible, by Maria Cristina Lo Cascio, are sophisticated and elegant and always remain appropriate to the time and culture of the stories themselves.

The Barnabas Classic Children's Bible is ideal for children aged eight to ten. It makes a perfect gift from parents and grandparents, or as a gift from church or Sunday School for baptism or first communion.

Rhona Davies is an established writer of books for children. Her books have been published in 20 different languages. Rhona lives in the south of England with her husband and four teenaged sons. Maria Cristina Lo Cascio was born in Milan, Italy. Maria runs a school of illustration in Turin and has more than 28 books in print.

Sixty-five stories and a Bible index so that you can easily find the original stories in your own Bible. I like this children's Bible a lot. It is not too chunky for young hands to hold, it has all the major stories from both the Old and New Testaments, with a Bible quote at the start, and the presentation of the book is first class, the distinctive illustrations enhance the words. A young child could be read the stories, but as they grow older, they could enjoy and learn from the stories for a number of years, reading for themselves. This is sure to become a firm favourite. Highly recommended.
